Environmentally Friendly Energy
Propane is a readily available, clean, nontoxic gas that is domestically produced and listed as an approved alternative fuel in both the Clean Air Act of 1990 and the National Energy Policy Act of 1992, making it one of the original green energy sources. High-efficiency, propane-fueled heating systems provide ratings up to 98 AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency). That means that 98% of the fuel is used to provide heat, resulting in savings on your utility bill. It emits significantly less carbon dioxide and when used in place of electricity and lowers a home’s overall carbon footprint – as much as a car’s worth of emissions for a year. Propane is nontoxic and insoluble in water, and because it is released as a gas, it doesn’t spill, pool or leave a residue. Its reach goes beyond natural gas lines where permanent and fixed infrastructure can be costly to taxpayers and homeowners alike as well as taxing to the environment. Because of propane’s reduced dependency on fixed and permanent infrastructure, not only is less land disturbed, but less materials are used. Propane’s versatility makes it a preferred fuel source for almost everything indoors and out! And using propane means you’ll always have fuel onsite to keep you moving, even when the power goes out.
Propane Safety is a Top Priority
Heller’s Gas is committed to the safety of its team members and customers alike. Not only do we employ a full-time safety department and training staff, but we also encourage and reward excellence through events like our nationally recognized annual Driver Challenge. We continually go above and beyond regulations set by the National Fire Protection Association and invest in infrastructure and equipment to help reduce the likelihood of an event. We also work with local trade schools and first responders to help train and educate those on the front lines on safe and proper propane practices.
